Vibra-Tite 73050 Series 730 is a flexible, solvent-resistant anaerobic gasket maker designed for close-fitting rigid metal flanges. The 50 mL red thixotropic sealant is ideal for aluminum housings, gearbox cases, valve covers and other machined flange assemblies, providing an instant low-pressure seal and service temperatures from -65°F to 300°F.
The Vibra-Tite 73050 Series 730 Flexible Gasket Maker is a high-viscosity, medium-strength anaerobic flange sealant designed for sealing close-fitting rigid metal flanges and mating surfaces. Supplied in a 50 mL tube, the thixotropic formulation stays in place during assembly and cures when confined between metal surfaces in the absence of air.
Series 730 is especially suitable for aluminum and rigid machined flanges and can replace many pre-cut paper, rubber and cork gaskets. Typical applications include gearbox housings, valve covers, transmission cases, pump housings and other rigid flange assemblies where a durable, solvent-resistant seal is required.
The product provides an instant low-pressure seal after assembly and is formulated for service temperatures from -65°F to 300°F. Maximum recommended gap fill is approximately 0.010 in on unprimed surfaces and 0.020 in when used with an appropriate Vibra-Tite primer. Cure time is approximately 1 to 12 hours unprimed or 15 minutes to 2 hours primed, with full cure typically reached in about 24 hours at 68°F.
Once cured, Vibra-Tite 730 provides approximately 900 to 1,500 psi shear strength and conforms to GM-1182863
