The Manitou Manufacturing R-5 is a nitrile rubber bearing boot designed for mounting spherical outside diameter ball bearings in compatible snap-together pillow block housings. Sized for ball bearings with a 47 mm spherical outside diameter, this boot fits between the bearing's outer surface and the surrounding pillow block housing to help minimize vibration and noise transmission.

Constructed from oil-resistant, static-conductive nitrile rubber, the R-5 is suitable for specialized industrial bearing mounting applications where vibration isolation and noise reduction are important.

The rubber boot surrounds the bearing and is retained between the base and upper strap of the pillow block set. Proper installation requires a compatible housing with turned-up edges on the base and turned-down edges on the upper strap. These retaining features help prevent the rubber from being forced out of the housing when thrust loads are applied.
