Norgren FP250X1.500-BAM-UC F-Series Pancake Cylinder

The Norgren FP250X1.500-BAM-UC is an F-Series Plus compact pneumatic cylinder, commonly called a pancake cylinder. It is double acting with a single rod end, a 2-1/2 in bore and a 1-1/2 in nominal stroke. The UC option adds a cap-end bumper, which reduces the effective stroke to 1.47 in and limits the operating temperature range to -40 to 150 deg F. The basic model (BAM) mounts through four counterbored through-holes for 1/4 in socket head cap screws on a 3.25 in bolt circle. The body is 2.69 in long, the overall retracted length including the rod end is 2.82 in, and the head and cap measure 3.75 in across. Two 1/4 NPT ports supply filtered compressed air, lubricated or non-lubricated, at up to 200 psig. The 0.75 in diameter rod is chrome-plated 303 stainless steel with a 1/2-20 UNF female (internal) rod thread, 0.70 in deep, and 0.63 in wrench flats; it runs in an oil-impregnated bronze rod bearing. The body is 304 stainless steel, the head and cap are clear-anodized aluminum alloy, the piston is aluminum alloy and the seals are nitrile. The cylinder is prelubricated with PTFE-based grease for non-lube service. Force factors are 4.91 sq in extend and 4.47 sq in retract (multiply by line pressure in psi for theoretical force). The piston is non-magnetic. Norgren discontinued the F-Series Plus line on July 31, 2026. The replacement series is IMI Bimba Flat-1; Norgren has not published a part-for-part replacement number, so confirm stroke, temperature range and rod thread depth when selecting a Flat-1 model.
